Encouraging professional development

Thanks to the sponsorship of Icon Cancer Centre, the 2022 Oncology Nurse of the Year award recipient will receive $10,000 to go towards professional development opportunities and further education. This will not be a cash prize. Funding will be provided for courses of the award recipient’s choosing (as approved by Cancer Council Queensland), aimed at increasing skills and knowledge in the area of oncology nursing.

The winners of the three award categories; Oncology Nurse: Clinical and Care, Oncology Nurse in Research and Oncology Education and Community, will receive $1,000 each to go towards professional development opportunities and further education.

Community engagement

As well as professional development opportunities, the winner will also be given media opportunities and will be called upon to speak at community events about their work in the field of oncology nursing.

The 2022 Oncology Nurse of the Year will be invited to be a keynote speaker and special guest at the 2023 Oncology Nurse of the Year Awards.
